EMDR
If you have done talk therapy and want to go deeper in your healing journey, EMDR may be something I will explore with you.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a transformative therapy technique designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. EMDR is particularly effective for those who have suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and various forms of trauma.
During EMDR therapy sessions, clients are guided through a structured process that involves bilateral stimulation, often through guided eye movements, taps,. or sounds. This approach allows the brain to reprocess distressing memories in a safe environment with a trusted therapist, helping you reduce the emotional charge of the memory and make it less painful
We will work together to help you deal with painful memories and reduce the emotional impact they have on you in the present so that you can lead a healthier, and more balanced life.
Intensive Sessions
Intensive Sessions are longer in length (90 minutes) and are ideal for individuals, families, or couples who:
Are looking to gain clarity about a specific challenging situation. This may require more time and attention to effectively delve into the issue and, for the therapist, to provide additional support.
May not be ready to commit to therapy on an ongoing basis or need to supplement their therapy schedule
Have a crises situation that needs to be handled with more time allotted
INTENSIVE SESSIONS FOR INDIVIDUALS
This is a longer therapy session where I like to work with a client on their biggest challenge in their life right now. We examine this and see how it is affecting all the other parts of their life. By breaking things down and talking about the crises or problem, we work together on coping strategies for the client to use the second they leave the office that will help with more control, calm and inner peace as they go throughout their day.
You’ll learn what makes worry spiral into discomfort, and how to create healthy boundaries in your life. You’ll walk away with tangible tools to counter the worry and pain you may be feeling in love, at work or with family & friends. You’ll gain clarity as to why worry or discomfort about a certain situation has taken such a hold over you, and you’ll learn more about how you can make room for more calm and peace in your life. This may be done with EMDR.
INTENSIVE SESSIONS FOR FAMILIES/COUPLES
Families and couples who are undergoing a significant issue that needs to be delved into and require a longer time period with a therapist find this option ideal. These are longer sessions 2-3 hours.
Intensive Sessions give the family/couple the opportunity to move the process from discerning what has led to current challenges/crises to a very specific method of clearly discussing each person's particular challenges and reaction and their desire for growth and change. The goal of this Intensive Session is to create clear communication, goals, and provide rationale and methods for making the shift happen.
Skills that are necessary for creating movement and change in a relationship/family are provided and modeled, and specific guidance is provided for the clients toward their particular challenges.
